Express Entry: PNP Draw
Applicants to the Express Entry pool who were nominated by the province were invited to apply for a Permanent Residency (PR) visa.
A total of 671 candidates were invited to submit an application for permanent residence on 8 March 2020.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC) scored CRS for 739 and above. This means that the applicant’s profiles with a CRS score of 739 or higher were selected to submit bids. Although the CRS score may seem a bit on the higher side, the nominee for the district automatically gets an additional 600 points in the quick entry format.
When an additional 600 points are taken into account, the minimum requirement for a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) is only 139 students.
Provinces of Canada are supporting the speedy application process, with the added benefit of being able to apply for a permanent visa.
The tie rule was also applied in this tie. A draw that took part in this draw was that all Express Entry profiles submitted before February 16, 2021, at 19:10:25 UTC, will be selected for permanent residence.
To date, the Canadian Immigration Service has issued a total of 38,657 ITAs (Invitation to Apply). This number is three times the number of IT applications sent by Canada last year. As we all know, because of this pandemic, Canada could not meet its requirements for the previous year. This is why the IRCC has now set itself much higher and more ambitious goals for 2021 with the goal of receiving more than 401,000 newcomers. Most of these new immigrants will be assigned through the Express Entry programs.
The majority of these bids came when the IRCC issued about 27,332 in the tie held on Saturday, February 13, 2021. That tie was one of the largest draws ever held in the history of Express Entry. Minimum CRS scores were also historically low with CRS scores of 75.
It is actually unusual to see that the tow is happening at two-week intervals. This draw was held after the season 22 days after Saturday’s draw. This is a tie where all CEC candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence.
